More teeth and walking?!

Well on your 8 month birthday you decided enough is enough and you were going to start taking steps. We have also been up all night every night with you partially because of you just being you and the fact that you never sleep and because you have more teeth coming in. 4 total with two more coming soon. You are changing so much. I've never had something or someone make me so utterly tired and yet I adore with every fiber of my being.

We have had a few very rough nights with you bud. I would like to blame it on the new top tooth you just got but somehow I just don't think you like to sleep very much. You sure are cute though...

6 months!

Well my sweet sweet baby, you are growing up fast! I can't believe you are 6 months old. You have two teeth, are rolling over, are eating new foods, are pulling up on things and trying very hard to crawl. You love your dog, eating squash, and going on loooong walks to the park and around our neighborhood. We walk so much we know all our neighbors and they all recognize you when they see you coming in the front carrier. You weigh 22lbs and are now in 12-18 month clothes! You are still a big boy. People don't realize how intense and demanding you are until they spend some time with you. I look forward to when your daddy comes home from work and the weekend so I can give my back a rest from carrying you. You are a special boy, did you know that?? 

Teeth!

You are 5 and a half months old and you got your first tooth yesterday! You took my hand and went to chew on it like you usually do and I got a surprise when you bit down! I am hoping you get the other teeth as easily as you got this one! 

You are almost 5 months old.

Your daddy and I can't get over how sweet you are. When you ride in your carrier on me or your daddy, we both like to kiss the back of your fuzzy little head. You giggle and smile so much now and LOVE to watch your dog and per him. You reach out your hands for him whenever he gets close. You are still so chubby and we love it. Everywhere we go people stop and say how big you are and how you "must not miss a meal". We love you so much and are praying daily that you grow up into a man of god and follow after Him. We love you so much honey.

You slept through the night for the first time last night! I am one happy (and rested) momma.

We had a friend of ours let us borrow this carrier for you...it's THE only way you want to be carried! You kick and scream any other way. This kills my back since you now weigh over 20 lbs but if your not screaming, I'm happy!

You have insisted on feeding yourself your avocado purée today. I think you like it! We mixed some with rice for your very first food.

Summer 2013 visit at Gammys

You loved spending time with your uncles and Gammy over the 4th of July weekend! You got lots of attention and snuggles and loved being in a new environment.

All you want to do is stand up! Your so strong! It won't be long before you want to crawl and walk. 

Almost 4 months old!

I didn't know how we would get here, but here we are and you are almost 4 months old. You are giggling and smiling more and more, you still HATE your carseat and you are really trying hard to drink out of your sippy cup. You can almost sit up on your own and you want to put EVERYTHING in your mouth, especially my fingers. Your daddy and I wish you would just start sleeping through the night but I guess we will take what we can get and we will just have to sleep someday. Your getting so big! You last weighed 19 lbs a couple weeks ago, so we will have to see if you've gained even more at your next appointment.

Three months old!

Can't believe you are 3 months old! Never thought we'd see this day...you have been such a pistol. Two nights ago you slept so well!! You slept from 8pm to 8am only waking up once to eat!! You have given us hope that we are headed in the right direction. 

11 weeks

You are 11 weeks old and (scared to believe it) we think you are starting to outgrow this horrible colic. You fell asleep in my arms on the sofa with the lights on, tv on, and no hair dryer it screaming! Giant leaps forward compared to where we started! Crossing our fingers that we are going to get our snuggle monster baby back!

Nanna

10 weeks

You have discovered your tongue. You look like a cow chewing on it. A very cute cow. :)

We have decided you are a master escape artist because every time we put you in your swaddle wrap, we find you with your arms somehow out of it. No matter how tightly we wrap you, you bust out. :)

Colic

People say that there isn't a known cause for colic or a cure other than time. You, my sweet son at quite possibly the most colicky baby I have ever encountered. You are going to be 8 weeks old in a few days and that means we are two thirds of the way to the "magic age" of three months when babies outgrow their colic. I'm not holding my breath but I can't help but hold onto a tiny bit of hope that the finish line is in sight. We love you so much and it's so hard to see you so sad and can't fix it. Your nanna is coming again for a while to help your daddy and I get some sleep and set up our new house. Every time you smile I try to catch those rare moments on camera. Hair dryer obsession

The ONLY way you will sleep for more than a few minutes is with the hair dryer on! I have photos to prove it because I don't know if you will believe me later on when I tell you. :) it is very loud but I'm willing to sleep next to a jet engine if it would help you sleep. (We even found an app that sounds like a hair dryer to help you) Mommy loves you!

Grammy to the rescue!

You were such a fussy little boy that I had to spend a few weeks at your Gammys house to get some help with you and catch up on sleep! Your Gammy and I have tried everything to make you happier, probiotics, the chiropractor, my diet, bedtime routine, swaddling, acid reflux medicine, gas drops, gripe water, and the list goes on! The past couple days I think you are finally starting to be happier! You have been smiling and laughing and snuggling and sleeping better at night for momma! Yay!
